Whatnot

I just got back from a refreshing week away from work life.  Lots of fun family time.

We camped at Buttermilk Falls State Park in the Ithaca, NY area…what a BEAUTIFUL place.  Just amazing.

Lots of fun watching my boys be boys with sticks and fire and woods.  They just love it.

And lots of time to not think about work at all which was great.

I had all these profound thoughts on when I was doing some reading but now they are all watered down….maybe they will dry out tomorrow.

In the next two weeks, my role at my job will morph and change a bit.  I will be handing off the children’s ministry portion of my job to a great guy who is coming on staff.  This has been the focus of ministry for me over the last year and in some ways I feel like I just got the team assembled and started.  At the same time, children’s ministry or programming in and of itself is not a primary passion for me, so the move is a good one.  It’s just great to know that the team is in good hands.

My role will be shifting to Outreach and coaching people into ministry, helping people to use their gifts for the Kingdom in cooperation with the Syracuse Vineyard Church.  That’s a blast for me so I am excited for this new season.  I also love change and challenges, so this will be fun.  That’s the big update.  It will mean changes in my schedule and in the people I work with.  It means walking away (to some degree) from good people I have really come to rely on and building a new team.  It will be fun. 

Fantasy Football is fast approaching…anyone interested?  I am in a league where we could use a couple of extra players…
