WORK AND WHATNOT.

Life has been busy prepping for the big move into our apt and starting at the new starbucks in the ALPH. It's great but frustrating at work. Being the new guy is no fun...all the credibility I had with my superiors and with my co-workers is lost and it feels as if others have taken it away (because they already have credibility). But I do understand that it will just take time...so I'm rollin' with it - not loving it, but hanging in there.

had a great weekend overall. met some good people - notice the new links for will and sarah - some quality folks from Augusta.

It was really moving for me to worship with my new friends here - as distracting as some scuffling screaming kids were, there was more of an overall focus on God than I've seen in a while. I guess it seemed to me to be very God-focused worship, something most of us would obviously strive for but often can't quite realize.

***Lord, let Your kingdom come.***

IT's unfortunate that my last post was so bleak....just haven't had a chance to blog since then!! We are totally excited to be here and are settling in. It's been crazy because I've been working almost since we got here. We are hoping to land an apartment in a complex called martin's landing on the North side of roswell. we'll see if we are "approved"! We are starting to meet people adn feel a bit more at home. It's the strangest thing...I really miss the washington post. working at starbucks I read it at least 5 days a week. now I turn to the sports page and instead of it being all about steve spurrier and the redskins it's all about the falcons. totally lame I know, especially since I'm not a big football fan, but it's just weird to get used to. I'm sure I will though:-)

It's been great for melissa and I to look back over the last year and know that God is all over this move. I still don't have an answer to the question "why georgia?" but for now I'll just say "why not?" We are much more hopeful now than we have been in a while, yet we are working toward living NOW and not waiting on a thing. Too often we (Melissa and I) get trapped looking forward to the future because our lives have been defined by periods (every stage from preschool to this last internship has had a predetermined end). We are now in an open ended timeframe of life and are recognizing that we have to live NOW to make the best of NOW because NOW has no end in site. And it's truly liberating.
